Activities
K-Kids
Parker Farms School in partnership with Kiwanis International is sponsoring a K-Kids Club at Parker Farms. The K-Kids Club is a student-led service organization for elementary school students dedicated to school and community service. Students who are interested in community service and are of good character are eligible to participate. Kiwanis International is a worldwide service organization whose clubs serve children and develop youth leadership. Parker Farms K-Kids club meets once a month before school in our cafeteria. Community service projects include collecting canned food items for Holiday for Giving, raising funds for Connecticut Children's Medical Center to support the Quinnipiac Q-Thon, making holiday cards for Wallingford's essential workers, and collecting supplies for the Wallingford Animal Shelter.
Safety Patrol
Safety Patrol is a program where 5th grade students in good standing are chosen to assist with dismissal each afternoon. Each cycle lasts 2-3 weeks, so there are many chances for students to be chosen for this privilege. Students are selected by their teachers based on responsibility, respect and good behavior.
Bulldog News
Parker Farms streams a live news broadcast each school day from the computer lab. The broadcast is entirely run by fifth graders in good standing and is watched by every classroom in the building. In addition to the pledge, announcements, news, and upcoming events, we often feature our principal addressing the entire building at once. This energetic start to our day reminds us to "Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible In Everything You Do."
